Characters
Characters are created to fit a variety of player interests and trivia topics.
They are kept on the lighter side to reinforce approachability and to invoke good humor.
Podiums
in conjunction with the characters, players may select a podium.
Podiums range from typical gameshow podiums to more ridiculous concepts.
Recolors
Each character and podium has a dozen color variants,
further cementing customization and personalization.
Character Backgrounds
I made several images to be implemented as character backgrounds.
This allows for further character customization while saving development time.
Website Art
I wanted the art for the website to feel cohesive with the app. However I also wanted to
move away from the playable characters to recapture the initial concept of the game which
had been lost in previous marketing efforts.

Deck Cards
I created over a hundred different cards for this boardgame. In regards to the system, I created a strict formula of card archetypes and functions to balance the probability of card draw.
I wanted each pull to maximize the level of alea the player felt. For this purpose I kept the art strle diverse and card centric.
Previous Card Iterations
In the initial versions I explored functionality and visuals as I developed my proficiency in digital arts. When I became
more versed in illustrator, I explored the layout and readability. The final art was made large for scalability allowing for ease of exploration.
Character Cards
Character cards were made larger to distinguish themselves from the rest of the deck. Flavor text is placed to the bottom to make it
less apparent, so it doesn't distract from the main character's ability.

Visual Style
I used a watercolor inspired photo treatment on specific photos to create the visual design of the website. Images have a restricted color pallete with the
exception of the photos/images that I chose to prioritize.

I also illustrated some pieces to support the photography. These were primarily used as part of the infographic on the "why-hire-us" page.

I was requested to create an art piece based on a vision a client had. The vision illustrated four floating faces with crowns, Jesus, Gideon, a lion and a lamb. In the background is a field where sheep jump into a river of blood and transform into lions on the other end.

Introduction
Being based on an already established IP, I already had an established design language to work with.
TCA Gaming is hyper focused on the nostalgia of pokemon so rather than copying the current design language,
I focused on abandoned 90s concepts. This included a focus on the classic Sugimori art style that once defined
the series.
It was a bit harder to create art based on complex marketing imagery.
In this case, I preserved a large part of the details, but limited my palette
to painting with two tone art with a white lighting effect to create visual cohesion.
Avatars
I purposely locked the avatar system to avatars that I designed to keep the users immersed in the visual style of the site.
Adverts/Banners
As part of my contract, I have created several new slides for the front of the site.
Below are just a sample of slides without text. For the slides, I broke my visual rules to
make the visuals stand out. This also allows for faster conversion to keep slides current.
