Gaia's Field was my senior fall project at NCSU. It was created as a creative user experience
solution to littering. Gaia's Field was a mobile initiative to increase interest in trash pickup through gamification and geo-mapping.
App Design
Introduction
The app uses a dual design direction which structures the components by hierarchy.
The main subsection uses green and white tones to give more color to the presentation while
other sections remove the green. For visuals, I used silhouettes for icons and full painted images for the visual language.
Profile
Allows the user to check their personal data while also connecting with friends
Tasks
Allows the user to find, create, and perform tasks
Grow
Introduces the gamification portion of the app, allowing users to create and build a garden around the area they live.
Compete
Allows the user to see how well they are doing with other users/teams in the general area.
Process
The task was centered around answering a design question and working through the process of creating the best experience for a user demographic. To that extent, a large portion of the project is lost when not considering the process work. For this reason I recommend reviewing the Gaia's Field PDF
